Migraine is the most common form of headache, but not all headaches are migraine. The term “migraine” refers to a more severe headache that is usually (not always) on one side of the head and often have other symptoms than head pain associated.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tCan I stay on my current medicine while I’m in a study?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Yes, you can stay on your current medication while you participate in a study. Oftentimes we actually require you to be on a stable dose of your medication during your participation.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tDo I need to tell my doctor if I’m in a study?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t

We recommend you share all your health information with your doctor, but ultimately it’s up to you! You are not required to let your doctor know about your study participation but in turn, we are also happy to translate any necessary information to your doctor for you!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tDo I need to be previously diagnosed to participate?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t

You don’t always have to be previously diagnosed to participate in a trial, but for some trials, a previous diagnosis is required.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tHave people tried these medications before?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Every medication and treatment that passes through Clinvest Research has been previously tested on humans and been declared safe for further testing. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tAm I going to get a placebo?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Some of our clinical trials are double-blind trials, meaning that neither the patients nor the researchers know who is getting a placebo and who is getting the treatment. A control group is given a placebo, while another group is given the drug (or treatment) being studied. That way, we can compare the drug’s effectiveness against the placebo’s effectiveness.<\/p>\n

Other trials may be open-label or have an open-label option meaning both the researchers and participants know which treatment is being administered.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\tWhat happens if I leave a clinical trial after it has started?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t

You are allowed to remove yourself from a study at any point in the process. However, don’t ghost us! We won’t be mad. Because the nature of our work is reporting, we’d love to understand your reasons for leaving the study and collect materials back from you when necessary.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"severe-cluster-migraine\"\n\t

WHAT TO EXPECT…<\/p>\n

\n\t\tFirst appointment:\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

Expect the first appointment to take about two hours. We’ll review the study, discuss the details with the researcher, and have you take a short physical exam.<\/p>\n

\n\t\tFollow-up:\n\t<\/h3>\n\t

Following visits are shorter, and vary by the study. You’ll likely receive medication and instructions on how to use and what to keep an eye out for.<\/p>\n

When you wrap up your final visit, you’ll return any equipment, take a short exit exam, and receive any final compensation for your help.*<\/p>\n
